Davenport North baseball had a very successful season. The team went 19-14 in the 2014-2015 season. That record was good enough to finish top six. The team eventually beat out other MAC teams to be able to go to state. Davenport North beat Davenport Central in the championship game to send them off to state. The team had a very stacked roster. The roster included five seniors, eight juniors, and four sophomores. The seniors included star pitcher Dantley Johnson and starting shortstop Calvin Conger. The team will be heading into the 2015-2016 baseball season without the starting shortstop, third basemen, catcher, pitcher, and left fielder. The team will have to pull up a few underclassmen and really combine together to win. It will not be easy but it can be done. The team will be very strong with the eight seniors. They will have a lot of experience and Wildcat Nation could see back to back state appearances. The team will have a hard schedule facing off against Davenport West and Davenport Central. Coach Corey Watchal has turned the program around. The past two out of three seasons the team has had a positive record. According to the stats, the team is going to have a negative record this year, but stats are not always correct. The team is stacked with talent and potential. If the Wildcats work hard we could see a very successful 2016-2107 baseball season.
