Everyone says “High school is the best four years of your life.” I disagree. The amount of homework that you receive is overwhelming. Your class work is way more difficult. Life becomes stressful and friends become enemies.

But, lucky for you, here are some tips to get you through it. The transition isn’t easy, but you get used to it eventually. Scroll through and read the tips, if you take them into consideration, things should be pretty easy for you. If you decide not to, you’ll live, but things won’t be as easy. Your choice, though.

I have for you is probably the most important: Wear deodorant. We know your bodies are changing, but please don’t remind us. People don’t like to be around you when they can smell your body odor.

Tip two, that senior doesn’t really love you. Be smart, don’t get yourself hurt. In the past, the seniors have been  known for preying on the younger girls in school.

Tip three, get involved. You do not want to have a boring high school experience. Go to football games, school dances, etc. It’s more fun that way.

Tip four, DON’T PROCRASTINATE. High School is hard enough as it is, don’t make it worse. You won’t be used to the change in the amount of homework and the difficulty of the work. You’re not in middle school anymore.

Tip five, do not slack off your freshman year. When people tell you not to slack off, listen to them! Because more times than none, the person went through it themselves. You will regret it later on, I can promise you that.

Tip six, be yourself! No one likes a fake. If they don’t like you for you they aren’t a real friend. There’s plenty of other people in the world.

Tip seven, friends will come and go. It is not the end of the world. Make some new friends and get over it.

Tip eight, don’t be that kid that disrespects the teacher to be funny. You’re not funny, just obnoxious. People will find you annoying.

Tip nine, stay positive. Things get harder before they get easier, ask anyone. Be happy, it’s not healthy to dwell.

Last and not least, tip ten, DEODORANT IS IMPORTANT. I can’t stress that one enough. Take care of your body.

Again, people say these are the best years of your life. It may or may not be true, but that’s for you to find out for yourself. Start your high school years off with a good start. Take these tips into consideration and have a good year.
