Seniors

Senioritis.  Google defines it as “a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance.” It sounds terrible, but really, it’s not all bad.

Senioritis

Months before graduation, seniors start getting lazy about doing their work and showing up for class because they are ready to be done with high school.

During this time, some high school students think of a senior prank to do before the school year is over. Seniors also have a “senior skip day”, which is when all the seniors skip school. Most schools have the last couples days planned out for seniors so that they won’t skip school. Like, at Davenport North they have a senior picnic where seniors don’t go to class and have a picnic instead!

However, the last couple months are the most exciting time of senior year, because you are onto the next chapter in your life. You go to college and live at the dorms with new people.  Sadly, you might be leaving your family, leaving your friends. Some of that can be really sad, but it is also going to be the time of your life, a great adventure. Being able to go where ever you want and do whatever you want.

So, don’t waste your senior year by getting lazy. It’s the last year with all of these people that you have grown up with. Make the most of it and have fun!
